Three more seconds

Updated: Aug 16, 2020

Three seconds. Count it out. I know you want to. One one thousand, two one thousand, three one thousand. That's it. Incredibly short when you count it out. But think of all the ways you can buy yourself three seconds. Walk a little faster, Hold something a little different, That's all it takes.

So why are we counting to three you ask? Good question. In a traumatic situation it takes someone on average just under three seconds to respond to that given situation.

Now response time is .25 of a second for something you do often or everyday. Meaning? You can shorten your response time in a traumatic situation by training. Simple as that.

If it takes the rest of the world three seconds to respond, think of all the options you would have or people you could help in those three seconds. But realize you have to buy every single millisecond, by training and changing your habits.

Start holding things in your non dominant hand, in order to leave your dominant one open to respond. Get yourself to the shooting range; don't let gunshots shock you. Track where people are around you so you don't have to waste your three seconds finding people.

The next few articles are going to be specific on how to do this but Start now. How can you buy your three seconds?
