Deck the halls pt 2

When they arrived Hetz set about popping the popcorn and Jack judged his choice of blankets. “This is like an actual saddle blanket. You can relax under this? It's like trying to get cozy under a cactus.”

“Ok, my house, my blankets. Also that one is for decoration which is why it was over the back of the couch.”

“You keep saddle blankets for decoration?”

“Yes,” he said laughing. “And there are like four soft ones in the basket over there.”

“No, thank you though. I'll just curl up under this here sheet of sandpaper and get cozy.” She put the blanket over her and rubbed the edge of it against her face as she spoke. “Oh yeah, real cozy.”

Halfway through the movie, Jack looked over to see Hetz practically cocooned in his four fuzzy blankets and laughed. “You look hot.”

“I am sweating profusely, but you look itchy. What if you-”

“Shhh she is about to go back to the big city! The freakishly good looking guy is gunna get his heart broken AND get his Christmas tree farm burnt down.”

Hetz whispered the rest of his comment. “What if you stopped being so stubborn?”

“What if I helped you out,” she offered. “And took one of your blankets because you are ‘sweating profusely.’”

“Oh that would be SO helpful.” he said laughing and throwing one onto her. She took it, reluctantly enjoying its warmth. Maybe, just maybe it was ok to be comfortable.
