At Guardian Angels we spend Christmas a little differently than your average Joe. Everyone except for one team would go and spend christmas eve with their families. Then after everyone was in bed, all the stockings were up, and presents were set they snuck back to GA HQ, the Cave.
If you have ever been to a christmas eve service you may be a bit biased about what was about to happen. They had a Christmas eve service, but not like any you have ever seen. The worship team had been practicing scene Thanksgiving to give the best experience to everyone in attendance. I wish that you could hear it, or rather feel it, the singing, the candle flame getting passed- truly the experience was unmatched.
After all of the agents headed up to the roof to exchange gifts. On their way they during chairs, bunk beds, hammocks and stools up with them. Soon all of them were strewn about a roaring bonfire, giving and receiving until slowly, one by one, they all ziplined to the ground to disperse themselves back into their homes, just in time to greet their families on Christmas morning. It was only then when Foxtrot was left alone. In the early hours of the morning they gathered by the dying embers and gave their gifts.
Everyone passed his or her helmet to the left and wrote a note for the person on the lining. Pass to the left, left, left, left. Until they received their own once again. Then with a dump of the canteen onto what was left of the fire they headed back downstairs to continue to work their shift. To continue to watch over the world even as she awoke on yet another Christmas morning.
